The Allan Brooks Nature Centre BC Culture Days event invites painters and artists to come to our centre and paint or draw “en plain air” (denoting or in the manner of a 19th-century style of painting outdoors), with a chance to win prizes in one of three (3) categories: Experienced, Emerging & Youth!
The prizes will be as follows for each category and will be voted in by the visiting public!
- Experienced: $100 Vernon Community Arts Centre prize pack
- Emerging: $50 Allan Brooks Nature Centre gift bag
- Youth: Performing Arts Centre tickets x2, to The Wilds, in Feb 2024
This event will engage the local and provincial community and create awareness of the artists working in the North Okanagan, as well as highlight the incredible beauty of this endangered grassland habitat.
Saturday, October 7 from 8-3:30pm. Artists can come register on the day-of, and choose a spot along the trail for the day.
At 2pm, the artists will bring their art up to the centre for guest voting, prizes and refreshments.
This is a FREE event, for guests and artists, sponsored by the Arts Council of the North Okanagan and The Allan Brooks Nature Centre. Joining us all day will be the amazing WICKED WAFFLES food truck! Offering fresh and delicious GLUTEN & WHEAT FREE waffles in savory and sweet forms.
