Science of Nature

Allan Brooks Nature Centre and the Okanagan Science Centre present the Science of Nature program on Ecosystems and Climate Change!

Local ecosystems are being increasingly impacted by our changing climate; increasing temperatures, drought, fire, invading species and much more. Join us as we explore the interconnected components of ecosystems and how each are being adversely impacted by climate change.

Students will participate in four, 75 minute sessions:

  • Air
  • Plants
  • Water
  • Wildlife

Sessions are offered at your school, in the school yard and surrounding ecosystems. Two sessions are run by the Okanagan Science Centre and two by Allan Brooks Nature Centre.

During these engaging sessions, students will learn that plants, water, air and wildlife are all interconnected and necessary components of an ecosystem. They will get an in-depth look at how each of these ecosystem components are being impacted and identify solutions to help combat the negative impacts.

Available for Grade 4 to Grade 7.
