Connect students with the natural world through hands-on indoor and outdoor learning experiences at Allan Brooks Nature Centre.
Field Trips at the Nature Centre are offered April through October and are aligned with the BC curriculum for students in Pre-K to Grade 7. Programs are designed for one class at a time (maximum 30 students), although larger groups may be accommodated depending on the season and availability.
Students will experience four engaging activity stations of your choosing during a 2.5-hour session featuring both indoor and outdoor nature-based learning. Upon arrival, classes will be welcomed by a Nature Interpreter and guided to their designated snack area where students may leave their bags. After a brief introduction, the class will be divided into two smaller groups, each rotating through stations led by our enthusiastic educators and volunteers.
Each group will participate in two activity stations before enjoying a 20-minute snack and play break in our Outdoor Nature Play Area. The session concludes with the remaining two activity stations, creating a balanced and immersive learning experience.
Classes are welcome to enjoy an outdoor lunch at the Nature Centre with advance notice.
