Nov. 18, 12-3pm at the Schubert Centre hosted by Sustainable Environment Network Society (SENS). This free family-friendly event ought to give you plenty of inspiration to make some of your own handmade gifts this holiday season. ABNC teams up with Bishop Wild Bird Foundation to present pine cone tree ornaments and front door wreaths. Visit SENS on Facebook for more info!
Dec. 8, 5-8pm in the village at Silver Star Mountain Resort. We will be presenting a curated educational display on the sub-alpine ecosystems of Silver Star Mountain. We’ll have gift shop items available for sale as well as some nature-inspired creations for you to deck your halls with!
Dec. 9, 12-5pm at the Schubert Centre hosted by Junior Chamber International Vernon. ABNC will present nature-inspired gifts for you to pick up for those on your list. ABNC Memberships will also be available for purchase at this event. Give the gift of nature this year!

Participate in the Annual Swan & Eagle Count with Allan Brooks Nature Centre, Bishop Wild Bird Sanctuary and the @North Okanagan Naturalist’s Club Sunday, January 14, 2018!
Join a team and travel together along one of eight routes throughout the North Okanagan-Shuswap. While this event focuses on counting Swans & Eagles, the day reliably offers great viewing of a variety of winter wildlife and the opportunity to learn a few things about nature in the area. Sunday Feb 4, 2018 be a part of The Vernon Winter Carnival with Allan Brooks Nature Centre!
Take a walk in the Wild Winter Wonderland at Allan Brooks Nature Centre. Come up to Allan Brooks and enjoy a day of fun with the whole family. Learn about Nature in the winter, test your snow tracking skills and spot the wildlife that stays in our region year round. Concession will be available along with a fire to warm your toes!

ABNC will be holding a number of volunteer orientation sessions from March 23-April 13, as we get ready for the upcoming season, which kicks off Sunday, April 15, 2018 with an Open House.
Whether you’re a returning volunteer or considering volunteering with ABNC for the first time, this one-hour overview will be of interest to you. You will learn about our organization and a great range of volunteer opportunities available at ABNC in 2018. More specific information on upcoming training sessions will be shared, along with our 2018 Calendar of Events. Come out to join us in welcoming others looking to make a meaningful contribution to our community at ABNC this year. You are welcome to attend any of the following dates!

Gather at the Allan Brooks Nature Centre and let them guide you on a journey through the sky.
Learn about the night sky in May and then have a look for yourself! On this night there’s tons to see. Check out the Moon, Jupiter, the beehive clusters and Venus! First time looking through a telescope? Not a problem!
Admission is by donation with all proceeds going to support Allan Brooks Nature Centre.
