Nature Nibbles – How to Recognize and Use Wild Plants for Food

Join Mikaela Cannon on an exploration of wonderful wild plants. Learn to identify local plants and their uses and benefits in your food! Mikaela has a background as a wilderness guide and her biggest passion is plants and their uses. Her education includes herbal medicine courses at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC and various courses in Ethnobotany, Anthropology and Biology at Okanagan College. Since 2011 she has been running her business, Herbal Myth, where she teaches adults and youth about plants and how to use them. She runs a small farm in Armstrong with her husband and two young children and is currently writing a field guide about wild Okanagan plants and their uses. Samples of her work can be found at foragingforestfables.blogspot.com Mikaela will inspire you to look at the weeds in your lawn in a whole different light and will treat you to some samples of wild goodies she prepared herself. Pre-registration is required and Mikaela requires a waiver signed. Pre-registration and signed waiver for Mikaela (provided in person) required.
