Ever wanted to know about how to save injured Birds?

September 19 @ 11:00 am - 11:30 am PDT

In the week before the international community science event of Global Bird Rescue (Sept 21-27, 2026) come along and learn the basics of how glass affects birds, and how we can all help to save lives!  Due to the nature of the talk, Kathleen Johnson will be sharing information about bird deaths and injuries, and she will also be sharing about practical prevention tips that everyone can do themselves!  Common misinformation will be corrected; you will be equipped with the facts!

Best of all, hope and inspiration for how you too can observe and save birds, especially in the urban environment.

Kathleen joins us from Calgary where she co-founded the volunteer group Calgary Urban Species Response Team which does surveys in the down-town core, rescuing birds and bats who can be saved, and respectfully collecting and documenting the ones who cannot be.  Kathleen looks forward to meet you and inspiring you to join the growing movement of making birds safe in our built environment.
